Default What kind of Converter is it?

Hey well i don't really know what converter is on my truck, because when i bought my truck it was already install, but i found out because one of my cuz tried it out, and well when i have the brakes on with my left foot and while im giving the truck some gas, it dosen't peal off thill the RPM's are at almost 1600 RPM's so, i guess what good, so any of ya have any ideas what kind of Converter do i have.

sounds to me like you have the stock converter...???

ummm every vehichle with and automatic tranny has a torque converter. Yours is stock. You can buy torque converters that are a higher "stall" so that when you powerbrake the rpm with be higher. A higher stall TC will put your engine into its powerband quiker. And, depending on how big of stall you get, your RPMs when you powerbrake could be any where from 2400-4500 rpm.

You definately have a SAF converter.
