The 6.0 liter truck intake manifold is used in the 4.8 and 5.3 liter trucks. This intake is also used unchanged in the 6.0 SS trucks. From what I've heard, the LS6 intake isn't really that benificial unless you plan on building a fairly peppy motor. It sounds like you're doing so, so you may want to consider doing a swap, but I would leave it as one of the last things on your list. In order to use the LS6 intake I know you have to go with electric fans and get rid of the stock clutch fan. This is because the throttle body won't leave enough clearence for the intake tubing, since the LS6 IM is longer. Good luck

if you are going from scratch, get an electric water pump, FBODY accessory drives and put on the motor in the truck and electric fans and you should be able to run the LS6 style intake manifolds on the truck. this is similar to what i'll be doing with my big cube motor. probably wont go with an LS6 manifold though, probably either a ported Ling manifold or an LSX for a direct port.

the ls1 and ls6 manifolds are exactly the same externally, there isn't much power difference between the ls1 and truck manifolds, but the ls6 manifold is good for 10ish rwhp from what i've seen on friend's cars.

every little bit helps....im just thinking that the truck intake will choke out a 383 cause it needs a lot more air than a 5.3........
