what is the ideal engine oil tempreture for LS motors?

Default what is the ideal engine oil tempreture for LS motors?

so i have a 2009 gmc sierra with 5 minutes of 2000rpms and less i have than 190 deg estimated engine oil tempreture
i have 160 stat and the coolant tempreture is 185 to 175 the lowest

what is the ideal temp for aluminum blocks and iron blocks?

Back when i had the trailblazer ss i used the Dashhawk scan gauge and temps ran around 220 when it was really hot and 200 the rest of the time...

The ecm doesnt really see the temp its a guess based off coolant temp,outside temp and the time ran...

so a stock water valve would be better ?

Up to 220 is fine on any engine.. You start getting to cool, then you get foam, water condensation.. I know on any of our offshore boats you like to keep them warm, but not cold..

you shouldnt... im just saying. stock tstat is 195. I run a 180* i wouldnt run less on a gen 3 engine. that being said, I still plan to run a external oil cooler on my engine as well like the HD trucks.
