i was cleaning my throttlebody tonight on my 5.3, giving me something to do because i was bored.
well after i got it all cleaned up and shinning, i got my flashlight and shined through the intake and well to my suprise i saw some liquid puddled in the back of the intake!?
i got a long cable tie that was pretty thick, and got a peice of a shop towel and taped it to the end of the cable tie really good. I stuck the cable tie into the intake and soaked up the "liquid".
when i pulled it out i squeezed the towel and well it was motor oil!
why would i have a small puddle of motor oil in the back of my intake manifold?!?
Im a little confused!?!
Please help!

Another way to fix this is with an LS6 valley cover around 90 bucks plus gaskets. it has the pcv integrated on the bottom of the cover and solves this oil puddling/consumption issue.

i noticed the same thing when i was cleaning my TB a couple of weeks ago. i started having some KR problems and was leaning toward carbon as the cause, so i seafomed the hell out of it, pulled the TB and saw the little puddle in the back of the intake about the size of a quarter. went to lowe's and grabbed an air filter/dryer for a compressed air system and some hose and slapped that baby on. after almost a week not really driving that many miles i can see it working. the filter is a nice brown color and the sides are splattered with oil and it is starting to pool at the bottom. works pretty good for under $30.
