i was thinking about getting a 5.3 to swap out my 4.3 v6. but whatis a good prices for one and if you know a web site let me know?

 

Check in the classifieds here... people are pretty much giving them away! You can find a low mileage running on complete with harness for under a grand!

 

Also where are you located? Check local junkyards, craigslist, and ebay!

I can find complete 5.3L's for $150-400 all day long.

Jason.Dennis keep in mind that by going from the 4.3L to the 5.3L you are going through an uphill battle, needing to change almost everything in your drivetrain. It will not be as easy as these guys have it swapping their 4.8L's for 6.0L's.

 

I paid 1100 for my complete 06 5.3 with 16k miles. I thought it was a great deal, and an awesome platform to start modding on.
