Default What does torque management ..........

What does torque management feel like when it kicks in? I just got my billet servos in from KDS and I am soon purchasing my Edge performance 3200 stall convertor as soon as it comes out. I know I will have a problem with TQ. management after doing these mods. Won't I?

I just flashed my PCM with the predator program last night, i think it modified the torque managment. A downloadable program that can be uploaded to the predator can completly rid of torque management. So your ordering a converter, are you gonna do it yourself?????

from what i understand it retards the timing up to three degrees when you go to shift and then sets it back to make thew shifts softer

I've read fuel is reduced aswell. The idea is to make less power to save the tranny.

TM pulls timing from the engine. It doesn't do anything with the fuel. It will pull way more than 3 degrees. The stock program on my truck deosn't have anything in for the 1-2 shift, but will pull up to about 60% power from the engine on the 2-3 shift.

I have been playing with tunes on my predator for the past two days and it basically completely gets rid of torque management.

NOW I can jab the gas on my truck, the truck barks the rear tires a little till the posi locks and the truck hauls! The predator is easily worth its weight in gold just for the fact that it deletes torque management.

BEFORE without the predator jabing or flooring my truck from a dead stop would have the truck fall flat on its face. There would be little or no power/response.
