Well, there's more to it than just lift, spring seat pressure has to be considered also. Cam lobes with more agressive ramp rates require springs with more seat pressure. Not sure what's required for the Comp cam you listed, just know what other's around here have used with good results.

I just installed that cam on my lq4. Very pleased with the performance so far. With it being a 112 lsa cam i can sit and listen to it idle for days. Definately noticable lope. I used patriot gold dual springs in my setup. I have a very quiet muffler on it right now, (used duramax setup) which i will be changing sooner than later probably, but this lets me hear that there is hardly any more valve train noise than my stock little 4.8 had, so i was impressed with that. Like its been said before, probably stay away from 918's, i was steered this way reading story after story. I bought the SLP 7.4 pushrods cause i got them cheaper than the comps as well. They are both chromeoly etc. and the slp's seem to be just as good of a product or better.

sounds like you got a good combo... and no you dont need a converter, get a converter is you plan to taking it to the track and run some impressive times, but other than that a converter is NOT necessary....
