Slowprocess, congrats on the 12.67 pass. Awesome! Do you have the Team Tripp performance or heavy duty tranny? Sorry I went off topic. The only downfall I see to a 6.0 is the gas mileage. I'm probably going to be doing a swap also. Probably just gonna build one and set it aside for incase.

the ss has awd though, evens out the weight thing cuz they gain it in the launch. also not many people on the site have 4.8s, or mod them as highly as 6.0s

Thanks man. I have the Team Tripp Heavy Duty 4l60e. I love the tranny. It is honestly one of the smoothest shifting trannies I've ever felt. On a hard run, it feels more like a SuperGlide. Crisp but extremely smooth, no hard yank into gear whatsoever. I'm very pleased with it.

the awd isn't much help at all except in street racing. most guys going to the track don't bother with normal street tires. the 4.8 that went 12.6 show's a 1.7 60' time. that wasn't a terrible 60' time for being not awd. i consider the awd a disadvantage more than an advantage at the strip.

ok n/m then, i was just talking street. but anyway, i dont think a regcab with 6.0 swap will come close to ltnklr01's radix 4.8

Now i am not making excuses. But when I ran 12.6 I lifted the cylinder head off the block and my 3rd gear band was almost gone (die on the ride home that night). The truck had the power to go 12.2-12.5 with the cometic gaskets and built trans but i never had a good night to run it again. I will be the first to say that I do have so cake into my truck. Radix/Agastino heads/cam/built trans/full exhaust/cal tracs/et streets plus a **** load of tuning. I know that it would have been easier to go with a 6.0, but then there would be no one to stand on the soap box and fight for the 4.8's.

What are you using now to get a 12.6? I assumed you already had a blower.
