Default What to do to my truck?? SC or swap?

Well its about time for a change. What would you guys do, put a SC on the 4.8, or swap me in a 6.o? I think they would both cost about the same. The tranny would hold up to either one just fine wouldnt it? I was going to go witha lift, but have decided to go for some more power. Would would the crank hp and tq on both of these set up be and approx. 0-60 times? I would also be adding a tunner to. Thanks

Don't waste your time with anything other than a 6.0L. If I had it to do all over again, I would likely build a 6.0 or a 408 rather than mess with a supercharger.

Depends on what your goals are, if you want to go full blown I would use a 6.0 its a better foundation as opposed to 4.8 , but if you want a little extra kick and plan on stopping there then supercharge the 4.8, just look at the track times on the fastest truck thread and you can compare.

After seeing SLOWPROCESS's times with his 6.0L swap, I don't think it would be a question. I'm in the mood (again) to finally get my 6.0L in thanks to his awesome times with his. I'm sure mine won't run as good as his does, since I went with a smaller cam and don't have head work, but I still hope to be in the 13's N/A in my Extended cab and spray it into the 12's. Go with the 6.0L, and get the same cam as he did. That things RUNS!

I would go 408 shortblock and a set of AFR heads 10 to 1 compression. Then if that wasnt enough you could just spray.

Since it never ends, I would start with the swap and do the blower or turbo later. You will need a new tranny eventually, they dont hold up well to big power.

Actually, the ONLY replacement for DISPLACEMENT is BOOST! (Just take a look at the 3.8 Turbo Buick guys and you will realize what I mean)

Personally I would build a nice 6.0 and then add some UNnatural aspiration and have the best of both worlds! Good Luck either way!

Superchargers always tend to cause problems with stock internal motors, depending on how hard you run the truck,my recommendation would be to go with the 6.0
