Default what cam do i need for my application?

i want a cam for my truck, im doing cut outs next week and want to make sure i get the lope sound. the thing is its my dd truck and want a cam that will give the same mpg or in the same range but more horses if applicable and get the big lope sound. i dont mind changing the springs but if i have do rods and rockers ill do it but i want to stay in a budget cause im doing the cut outs. basically i want same mpg, big lope, if any more horses. im sorry if i found like noob. if have to do a custom cam please tell me what specs so i can get it done. thanks alot guys

What you're asking hard to do. You can't keep stock gas mileage AND have a lopey cam. More cam = more gas. So if you wanna run a cam be prepared to lose some gas mileage. A large enough cam will require you to change your springs. I would do it no matter what just as a precaution. The push rods I think must be changed. I changed mine. As far as the lope, run a something like a 112lsa that will give you some good lope.

USE THE SEARCH BUTTON. Smaller LSA is more lope. Performance doesnt come cheap. Sacrifices are made.

you will have more than 10mpg if your light on it. And you have a big truck so a big lope is gonna be not recommended unless you have about a 4k stall

You should be able to get a mild cam and if you tune it in good you won't lose much mileage if any. Use Search This Forum in this section of the forum and find out what you think will work for you.

If you go with a mild cam you're gonna get some lope. But a big cam is gonna require some mods to get it to make it worth the effort. Be prepared to spend some money.

You can have a decent size cam and still have decent mileage too if its tuned well.

I just put a 224/230 cam in my truck with almost .600 lift and I have a 3000 stall and I am getting as good as 17-18 mpg on the highway.
