What is the best way to build up my truck
#1
Hello i have a 99 silverado with a 4.8 in it i'm getting to the point of getting board with it and it really doesn't owe me anything (i have had it for 2 years and i only bought it for $1800) so i did some reading and found out ls6 heads and intake will fit right on ( i cant buy both of them for under a grand off ebay and port and polishing cost a hell of a lot more than than). if so what kind of problems will i have with putting them on? i want to cam it for torque but i really do not have any idea about cams so it would be great if someone could stear me in the right way for that. i am thinking that if i am going this deep into my motor i should put some new pistons on i want to build this truck for torque and i do not know to much about pistons ether what pistons would be good for me?. another thing i really do not know much about is tunning it who would be a good shop to bring it to ( i live in fargo nd) this is a every day driver but it does get the **** kicked out of it.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I would suggest that you read and search here and over on ls1tech..ALL of the questions you can think of have already been asked and answered numerous times.....The more you learn the more you will change your mind...and questions
-Also when you ask questions try to be more specific and break them up, you are more likely to get a honest answer that way..Welcome to the forumn btw!
-And the best way to "build up your truck" isnt the same as everyone elses..You have to decide what balances you want(Power/drivability)

Welcome to the site, you'll find a lot of great info here and a lot of guys who have done exactly what you want to do
Here's what I'd do...Custom tune, 6.0 swap, build up the trans and install a torque converter matched to the setup, gears, etc....cam and head work too
