The aluminum's are right at 20lbs. The steel's are at least 10lbs heavier.

What about the wheel and tire? My new one's weigh 65 lbs each, I was curious as to how much more they weigh than stock.

Before you go out and buy those 20" wheels think about how much acelleration power you will be giving up...better to go with some lite weight tires and rims...if you can get them used like I have you'll also save about 75% or more on the price as well!

I found a good used set of "C-rated" 33x12.50x15 BFG's at www.recycler.com for $130. they had 9/32's of tread left and were never taken off road Yeah C-rated 33" 15's weight a bit less than D-rated 16" 285's

All weight were done with a doctors scale...

Tires weighs 45lbs each
15x8 weld rims: 16lbs each
Total 61 lbs.

285's with steel rims weighs 84 lbs each so a savings of 23 lbs each...not as much as I wanted but still 92 lbs of rotating/sprung weight Which will also help on braking as well!

If you times that a rotational factor of 2.5 that give a weight factor loss of 230 lbs...which should knock off .2 off my 1/4 mile times...tires are also a bit wider and stick out .5" further as the offset is 5" compared to the steel wheels of 5.5"

I had hand polished them a bit but I now have a buffer for my air grinder so I will be going over them a bit more.

More info for you to think about:

Other items I've taken off to save weight:

Spare tire with steel rim, tools 75lbs (fix a flat and plugs
Rear bumper: 67lbs (most cars bounce off my tires
Factory Hitch 45lbs (never tow)
Replaced fiberglass top 80lbs with a canvas 20lb top
Lite weight tires and wheels 92lbs
Elec radiator fan/shroud 10lbs
Howe aluminum radiator 2" core 15lbs

But I've also added a Supercharger 45lbs
Side Nerf Bars: 50lbs
Rear traction bars 30lbs
Heavier bigger exhaust 30lbs
3" body lift 10lbs
7.3L ford diesel intercooler 30lbs

Total weight taken off truck: 457 lbs
Added weight: 195lbs

Truck weighs 5,050 lbs (less driver)
