Default Weight Reduction Thread

Anybody have any ideas for weight reduction in our heavy-*** trucks??

Other than the obvious, remove spare tire, fiberglass hood??

Just curious what you guys had come up with . . . .

We can start reducing weight in the drive train. Aluminum driveshaft. Light weight wheels if you can find them. The guys on Trucks today were putting in a "carbon fiber Eaton PosiTrac" today. Of course none of this will be cheap.

If it were a drag truck only:
-inner fenderwells removed
-guting insides of doors
-lexan windows
-remove carpet
-???

Extreme? Definitely, but I bet that would make a lot of weight.

I've been trying to think of stuff myself. Unfortunately, a lot of thing like power seats and windows, have me SPOILED.

One thing I wouldn't really mind giving up, would be the AC system. I've always been a windows-down person. The only problem is that it's needed for the defroster.

The driveshaft on my truck is already aluminum, FWIW.
