Well I just got done swapping heads, the WCCH stage 2 heads are now on the truck. I didn't really want to beat on it yet, but the one time I did get on it there is a noticable difference in power. Right where the cam starts making power at 2500 rpm there is a big gain and it just keeps pulling. I am very pleased so far with the outcome. I think the truck needs to get used to the new tune,I hope it learns by Wednesday I will be going to the track to get some new numbers.
Another thing I see is the valvetrain is much more quiet. I think the beehive springs where making the sewing machine noise I had. I was using Comp 918s, now these heads have Patriot Gold. This is even more pleasing.
Now the truck is screaming for a stall, I quess this is next.

I was talking to Richard yesterday, finalizing some decisions, and he had mentioned you might have them on soon

I started last nite after work and worked until about 11. I got home today at 4 and worked until about 10. It wasn't really that bad. It was me and my cousin, he used to be a GM tech.
One other thing I noticed was some of the lope in the cam is gone, I don't know if it was cause it was in the garage or the first time it was started up. I will find out tommorrow morning when I start it up cold. It sounds like a pro stock drag car sometimes. It just sounds alittle tamer now, maybe time for a bigger cam and a stall, man this never ends. lol

Great job on a smooth, quick install! Your track times and driveability impressions should put a big smile on your face.
Your cam choice should make for excellent pedal response in around town driving as well as track times with a tight converter. Looser stall and a larger cam will make much better et's.
I'm not sure how or why the dual springs are quieter than the beehive springs, but it's interesting to note.......
Speaking of notes, you'll probably find the exhaust note at idle has a bit deeper bellow than the stock heads had and perhaps a bit more bark at WOT. Also, you'll probably find that the engine revs through the gears faster.........

Thank you for posting your impressions so far.

I just started it up cold this morning and it only has a very faint lope, it does sound different. It kinda has that sleeper sound to it.
It used to really lope when it was cold.
The throttle response is very crisp and smooth. I want to heat cycle the valve springs a few times before I really get on it.
Thanks alot guys, everyone here has been a huge help.
Grippy, you really gotta use some of those new parts. How much dust do they have on them?lol. The install will be easy, GM has done alot great things with the Gen III . Compared to a old school SBC, this is cake.
