Warranty Void w/ wut modz?

The Gm service manual says that an over-oiled air filter will damage the MAF and the transmission. It states that dealers should not replace/repair any transmission under warranty coverage in such cases. So I assume that simply installing a K&N filter or aftermarket MAF would void the warranty.

just keep your factory parts to the side and if there are any questions in the back of your mind, just swap them back on when you go in for warranty work.
I am about to void your keyboard warranty because you've obviously modified it to type sentences in personalized license plate format....

It's all up to the dealer as they have final say.
Any part that has the potential to increase power levels beyond stock could be enough justification for a denial of warranty work.
However nothing will COMPLETELY void your warranty, only certain portions of it. Your installation of an air filter should not void your electrical warranty, drivetrain quite possibly.
Let's put it this way, you have to pay to play. If you are the type to cheat the system and make it harder for all of us to come in with legitimate issues, then you should die in a fiery crash. Or at least be hung by your pubic hairs in public.

A friend of mine took his duramax to the dealer because it was running like crap. When they pulled the MAF, it was coated with oil and even cotton sucked of the K&N, and his was oiled right from K&N and installed new. It can happen.

I just cleaned and re-oiled mine a few weeks ago and it's running fine. I might take it off and spray some contact cleaner on the maf wires anyway.
My dealership said a mod could void a portion of the warranty.
