Building an l92 or an l96(havent decided which yet) to go into my 08 yukon, planning to keep the vvt, although i do have an ls3 cam, which was going to go in the l96 and just run it and be happy with it, but i have recently stumbled onto an l92! I would really like to keep the vvt in the engine, problem is deciding what cam to run, i have the stock l92 cam, but not sure if i will be happy with it or not, and really dont want to have to go back in to swap the cam and springs later, i am looking at btrs l99 vvt cam, the vvt 1/2 cams from tsp, and a couple of the comp cams vvt grinds.... Thing that kinda scares me about the vvt1 and 2 cams is lack of information they have available... This is my DD/family hauler, so i am not looking for anything outrageous, slight bump in lope, but rather not have to go any bigger than tb stall, will end up with headers and cats, simply because i have to put cats on the yukon anyway(sounds like a good of a reason as any to me) so any opinions anyone has on the cams and anything i havent found as far as vvt cams please let me know....

This is the cam that I was leaning towards, should still be good on a stock TC.

and it sounds pretty healthy.

Yep. I e-mailed Ryan a while ago about it, here is what he sent me regarding the SS1
On stock tq converter Id go with our SS1 vvt which is 219/230s on a 112lsa. It is capable of 400 plus rwhp on a 6.0 truck with supporting mods of course.
On a 3200-3600 converter Id go with our SS2 vvt which is 220s/230s on a 112 lsa, and it is about 15-20 rwhp stronger, but it will give up a little power below 3000 rpms vs the smaller grind.
I have spring kits and pushrods here and it will require the phaser limiter as well. I stock all of that stuff.
