my fans got put on yesterday and i was wondering, at what temps are you guys' fans kicking on. I know the vsc is variable, but it seems that mine take forever to turn on. much like the stock clutch fan. Anything we can do to change the wiring other than running a manual kick on switch. i am not opposed to doing that but would rather see if there is another way. might just take the vsc off completely. fans are ls1 and temps are at the normal range.

 

I know mine is turned all the way down, so it will turn on at the coolest temperature. I still don't think that is enough, but I guess it's all we have to work with.

 

flyer, were did you put that thermostat sensor at? we put mine in the radiator. wondering if there is a better place.

 

Mine come on around 185°. They could come on cooler but, I don't want the fans running all the time so I set them higher. That little sensor that pushes through the radiator is in a spot to read the hottest coolant entering the rad. You'd need to put it somewhere hotter to get the fans on sooner. Kinda like tricking the VSC into thinking the coolant is hotter than it actually is.

You might be able to wire a resistor in the probe line to trick the VSC like this but, you'd need to test the resistance on the wires to see what one might be appropriate.
