Default vortec 5300/4L60E hybrid

I recently purchased a 5.3/4L60E from a guy in CA. that I plan to drop into my 67 c10 chevy truck project, I've contacted street and performance about the drop in and have the motor mount converts on the way. Since the motor is a california motor hwoever, I'm finding a descrepency (sp) between my '03 silverado's 5.3 and this one tring to find whats CA emissions and whats not. On my 03 theres no EGR, theres no smog pump.. on this engine there is, so I went ahead and removed them and sat them aside, but I ran across a silverado in the junkyard the other day that still had the EGR? can anyone clarify this?

btw I am also needing to convert it to a 2wd tranny, since it came with the NP246 T-case, but due to regulations on every forum I come across its going to be impossible for me to ever buy one because of posting regulations, I'm getting a bit frustrated with thos

The motors dropped EGR in 2002.

The trans will have to have a new output shaft and a new tailhousing.

Clarify that last statement, I'm not sure what you were getting at there.

What he said. If the motor you have has an EGR it is a 99-01 motor. There is not much difference on the outside of the motors but they did change cam and bump the power as the motors progresed.

And what is this regulation with the t-case?

sorry yall, been tied up, kinda forgot about this post lol

what I meant was, many forums have a minnimum post count before you can post on the for sale or WTB forums, it was difficult to find, but a real cool guy up in ATL converted the tailshaft for me, so thats squared away.

I recently got a 2003 4.8 intake since my 5.3 was cracked and have been converting it over with my 5.3 fuel rails. We also pressed the 2 missnig studs into the manifold for the throttle cable. The thing in theway on this manifold currently is the moved tube that connects to the valve cover. Since the 2k3 is drive by wire they moved this tube off the TB onto the intake manifold and its right in my way. S&P told me to flatten the spot, and fill it with black silicone.

What changes were made with the cam? I'm still at a point where a cam swap may be feasible, but I dont want something so radical that I have to change my torque converter. I do not want to unbolt everything.

heres a progress pic so far.

btw yall so far what I'm looknig at is a speartech reprogramming, using the factoery silverado wiring inside and outside of the truck. My dad is sort of a wiring buff and wants to take on the wiring as his own project.
