He might want to "clearance" the shroud a little bit if it's as tight as mine was...there was just enough room to slip a piece of paper in on mine, but when I powerbraked the truck the engine would lurch forward and actually contact the shroud. I'm sure that if that happens enough times, something is going to crack eventually. A nice set of efans will definitely fix any clearance problems though

 

Not that efans wouldn't be nice, but I appreciate the simplicity and ruggedness of the mechanical fan. No relays and junk to burn out. It works like it should all the time.

 

...as long as the fan clutch doesn't leak or go bad otherwise, but yes, the factory clutch fan does perform as it should. Knock on wood, I've had good luck with my efans...I did have 2 relays go bad last summer (after over 5 years of service), but I put 3 new ones in and keep 3 backups in the glove box just in case
