Neither. A drop-in filter will do just about as much good. CAIs don't product a lot of gains unless you have a lot of other mods plus a tune. Save your money for better stuff!

Search this section for "home made CAI" and you'll find pics of some of the inexpensive alternatives that guys have built. I have the Volant with ram air, and it's pretty, but if I had to do it over again I'd probably save my dough, get a dry-flow drop in filter, mod the stock air box, and make an intake tube with some PVC and silicone couplers. Opening up the bottom of the stock air box, and removing or modifying the metal plate under neath it seems to be beneficial from what guys here have reported.

dont know where he came up with that. I had access to a dyno and the volant is on my truck and picked up a solid 26 rwhp with the kit over the stock 2007 airbox and filter and really dont see a drop in giving that much.

My Volant box fits like crap. The fit and finish is poor. The mounting holes don't line up and the holes in the top plate are the same way also.

Whatever is cheaper. Personally I use a drop in filter with an Airaid Intake tube. I think the tube is more restrictive than the stock box is anyways.
