sounds good. id be much happier with a stock style air box over an exposed filter. recommend wrapping the intake tube ? im wondering what paint/coating would reflect the radiating heat the best.wonder if painting it white, then wrapping with an insulating wrap would yield the best heat reflection.

I can get some pics of the air box tomorrow. I cut out and sanded all of the baffles in the lid and bottom and sides of the box. I cut out a 4'' hole in the bottom of the box for a piece of ducting to drop down behind the bumper. It's a temporary piece now, but going to get a better tube to replace the duct. I was also thinking about making a scoop out of abs plastic for the fender side of the box (for when I have the headlight out at the track) and for a scoop for the cold air duct. Still thinking about it.
Post some pics plzz!

soo.....any chance you grabbed a few pictures ? ive been playing around with my air box and thinking about cutting large slots in the front and passenger side of the bottom half of the box, putting in a drop in k&n and going with a metal intake tube like the picture posted earlier. ive also been thinking about doing some testing with intake air temperatures. im going to paint the intake tube white, then wrap in with insulating wrap and see if i can drop a few degrees. i want to also see about different paint/ powder coat/ bare aluminum combinations will yield the best results.

IMO I think their would be enough room, just enough and you could always "make" it fit if you had to.

+1, I'm pretty sure that it will clear, it actually looks like it would clear better than my old K&N did, which required a little grinding on the shroud...

Yeah my buddy Craig known as sonoma43 on here, his K&N fits really tight up against the shroud on his 03 Silverado.
