Default Volant or King Cobra Intake?

I see both seem to have there pros and cons..

which is supposedly making more power for the bang for the buck?

Would be for a 5.3 if that matters. I read the Cobra seemed to have a crappy filter? I know we installed a Volant on a 99 and thats working well, but it was a PITA fit wise on that truck

What did they re-design?????? I'm just curious because I just baught a Volant system for my 05' VHO. They said it was the same system as the 5.3L Silverado. The SS & Denali have a one digit number difference in their Volant part number. I found out that the only difference is that the rubber grommet at the throttle body is glued onto the factory plastic intake tube and that they just supply a new rubber grommet for the new Volant intake tube (for the SS & Denali's).
I was hoping that Volant has a newly redesigned intake tube specifically for the 6.0L HO equipped with factory e-fans in the Denali, SS, and VHO's.
I would want a less of a bend at throttle body, as it has plenty of room for it vs. a truck with a clutch style cooling fan and large fan shroud.
I thing a longer smoother bend into the TB would give more HP & TQ.
Also if the Volant intake tubes had the torque tube attached to it, they give more out more bottom end torque. That's why it is on the factory intke tube.

Let me know what upgrades they have done to Volants systems.
If any of you guys have detailed pics of thier Volant system installed or just laid out on a work bench, I would love to see it and compare it to what I was given for my VHO.

Thanks,
Jim

if you just bought the kit, chances are you received a new one.
They redesigned something, dunno if it was the tube or what because some people claimed to have actually lost horsepower after installing the Volant.
I think someone even had a dyno showing the above.
