i cut 2 holes on the bottom of my stock airbox this weekend on one hole I put about a 8" piece of plastic tube that I had laying around the garage so it is pointing towards the bottom inbetween the fedner and the bumper, results: its sounds different, and I noticed a little on the top end, I havent tried it on the low end. but when it is parked and just reving it up you cant really hear it sucking up some air (compared to no holes on the box)???

i would of liked the idea of putting it through my bottom bumper valance but my valance does not have holes and it would of not looked good with just one hole cut out???

Default The AIRAID MIT Has Gotta Be Helping.

I got an Airaid MIT just for good measure and to get rid of the noise reducing nut-sack that hangs in the way. If you compare the OE to it upside down, side by side, you can see how the MIT has more flow area. That flat going over the shroud flows nothing on the OE unit. It's pinched together under there.
My brother put one on his 04 OE exhausted truck and you can here it draw at times.

why not do an intake and mod the box.. UPD lid and tube, 3" hole cut in bottom of box and plate, volant ram air setup and a k&n filter. i have UPD but didnt go through the company. it wasnt until later that i heard all of the customer service horror stories. my experience with the intake has been great, but i got the ugly black intake thats stronger instead of the brittle clear plastic version.

Well i spent $250 on my K&N FIPK 2 and i noticed a diffrence over stock. My mileage went up and there was a little more in the low end, other then that once i got going i could not really feel a diffrence.

I have a stock box with a custom made ram air setup (search for posts by me). It consisted of a scoop, 4" hose going into the bottom of the airbox. There was no additional noise (which I liked) and I gained ~.1 -.15 in the 1/4.

I tried the MIT, but I didn't see any performance improvements over the stock tube besides making it a PITA to remove the air filter. Also, I tested with the stock paper filter and a K&N drop in and saw no differences. That test was done at the track... Maybe the computer needs time to learn, but the simple replacement showed no improvements.

All of my data has been posted before, so search my name to see pics and data.
