VaraRam King Cobra induction (ram air version)

I can't believe all of the interest in this thing after everyone bashed the VR velocity stack. They made big claims with it also but everyone just raised the BS flag. Now, everybody is quoting them on the added power they claim??? I'm sure it's a quality piece, and I still haven't ruled out the VR stack as a "might try" item....but I couldn't help but notice the interest in this by some of the same people that bashed this company's VR velocity stack. Its a strange world we live in. Just my .02, and hell, I'm curious about it myself!

Its easier to look at something like a true-ram air intake (whatever the hell that really means). And see where gains can be created. Where as a plastic condom for your TB doesnt exactly ring true by intuition alone...
If you read Vera Ram's website, they state this intake is meant to be used with the VR Velocity Stack. If I trade in my Volant for the King Cobra, i'll get the stack as well, otherwise i'll leave the VR stack to others.

VaraRam has done TONS of testing with this system and found that it worked best in the real world without a larger tube running to the throttlebody. I'll have this on at least one of my trucks when they are ready to ship so I'll take some detailed pictures. There will also be a system available for the 5.0/5.7 trucks.

Do a search in the truck performance section.
Here, read these past threads:

will this work on a 2004 tahoe?
Please enlighten me as to what people had to say about the velocity stack?

okay, just to give you an update on what this thing actually does... all i really got out of it was 1.5MPG which is good enough for me

4 weeks of running, .8 MPG solidly. Could never get over 20.8ish, now 21 with room to spare. You wont notice the Vararam on WOT bursts, where it really shows a presence is holding speed and or light tipins of the throttle. Lot less pedal effort in both cases.
