Default Vararam=junk

About 6-8 months ago I put a vararam "king cobra" kit on my 2500HD when I got it I was kinda pist it was missing some hardware, but thought nothing of it, and just bought a few new bolts. Well on friday I traded the truck in and I was gonna sell the kit on here and put the stock air box back on. I go to tear the kit out, and I notice that ram air portion had came off the filter, the elbow that connects the filter to the intake tube was ready to fall off, but the clamp was still snug, and an air horn that points down had fallen off. I put the kit on and I know that all the clamps were tight, there just wasnt much for them to clamp to. Just not happy with the quality of that product.

The problem with mine was the foam gasket around the lip was peeling off, had to run some silicone around it. Everything else is alright, and the clamps are still tight. Just not impressed with the fit or the longevity of this product

I had one for two weeks. I felt like it did its job well (I got 2 mpg better on the highway), but the fit and finish SUCKS!! Plus, you have to ditch or trim the radiator cover for the ram air to work. I think I'm gonna go with a Volant.

I was not crazy about that either, but it seemed to perform well. When i uninstalled mine to put on the blower, everything looked good and tight. I replaced that crap element with a K&N right off the bat though. Made the truck sound a lot throatier under a load too.

I love the sound

as for the radiator cover, I notched mine, that allows that part of the cover to angle up and accomadate the air intake, and the other portion to lay flat.

All Vararam's are junk guys, I know the person who builds them and he is always at work...high as a kite...and he is the only employee so I know it was built by him.
Everything they sell there is junk and pieced together. The owner almost ruined my vette running dyno test on it for one of his products, the damn filter came apart and went in my intake. All his testimonials are typed by him also and just put in old employees names. I could go on and on about his work ethics but I would rather not. Just wouldnt buy his products.

ive only seen it installed on one truck in person and a bunch of pictures. its unappealing to the eye, designed stupidly, and looks inefficient in comparison to other kits. just my opinion besides, how can you trust anyone who promotes the velocity stack

I Live Right Around The Block From Where They Make Those Intakes....i Was Given One Out The Back Door By An Employee When They First Started To Make Them...i Used It Because It Was Free. It Was Functional, But Unsightly. That Thing Did Not Fit Too Well, I Had To Check The Clamps About Once A Month, The Mounting Brackets Are Poorly Made....on And On........much Rather Use The Stocker Over That.....
