Here's some of the wiring repairs from a goof-up during the first mock up. They're not the clearest, but you'll see the "uh oh" that had to be repaired.
Gotta upload the pics to my site, or set up a pic site, like photobucket or something..

Not much to look at yet though, once I get the intake, coil packs, PS pump, belt, etc.. it'll be worth a look.

I have had a bunch of repairs to do to my harness, the one I got was cut right behind the oil pressure sensor, so I have been stitching in some 4L60E wiring from a cut up LT1 harness, VSS, and I need to add some leads for the front O2's. I hope to get that all patched tonight, and then I can concentrate on the power distribution, guage and ALDL wiring.

I think I have the radiator situation under control too.. we'll see.

Default It's alive!!!

Been 5 weeks since my last post, but the truck is alive. My GTO just went away last week, so I HAD to get the truck on the road so I could get to work this morning. At 5:00 AM this morning, the truck was ready (ish) to go. Drives great, funny how a weak 4.8L feels like a rocket compared to the weezing 150k mile TBI 4.3L that was in there. Enough time to shower the shop junk off me, and get about 40 minutes of sleep before it was time to get up and get ready for work.

I still need to put all the wiring back into the snake-skin sheathes, finalize a real PCM mount, and get a few peripherals working.... like ECT, oil pressure, speedo.... oh and HEAT!!! The peripherals are just wiring, so realisically, I have about 5 hours or so to finish it all up. The truck will sit most of the week (I have a company vehicle during the week) but I think I might drive it home if its warmer in the middle of the week. A 25 degree ride was not all that much fun this morning.

i'll post pics once the engine bay is all cleaned up.

Here's an update:

I go outside again to prime the fuel setup, and what do I hear? Liquid hitting the ground... thought it was rain, but it was fuel. Strong odor coming from under the truck. Disconnect the hard-wired fuel pump, and notice fuel coming from the rail's regulator area (I think that's what it's called). I then let out a Charlie Brown AAARRRRRGGGGG!!!! *sigh* I'll disconnect the return line, and put it in the same tank I had the feed line in (dunno why I didn't do that the first time).

Here's some pics:

For those that dunno, my motor was siezed due to sitting so long. Had to use some special lube oil (WD40) to get things loose. I'm taking a break right now. Seems I'm missing a power lead to my coil packs cuz my plugs don't spark. Stay tuned...

It turns over, but VATS kills it. I need HPT or EFIL badly!

Open manifolds/headers...

Had to give a little gas... No MAF connected (nor O2s)
Breath of Life! (1 of 2)

Tried to let it idle...

Removed the radiator recently to run wiring for battery relocation. That's why I didn't run it long. Definitely don't want to heat motor long. If things go well this month, will be complete under the hood. Just need a d-shaft, gauges, and rear carrier swap.

Gonna be playing with HP Tuners for a while.

Got a few things done. Attempted to permanently mate my fuel return line to a hard line using compression fitting... nothing but leaks (even with teflon). Oh well... Cleaned up wiring a bit.

Gonna end up removing these later... Don't think it's high pressure hose (see words on hose).

Column Shifter is all set.

Took me a while to drill through the chasis... at least til I got a real sharp bit. New bits are bad ***... they make quick work of a hard job. Been working on the truck for over 8 hours.

Well... as Matt & Nick already saw... I had my trans lines done, but the auxilary cooler was cracked in two places. Got some J-B Weld on it now. Will find out how well it holds up.

All was good, til I started the engine, and proceeded to add trans fluid. Here's the end result:

Trans cooler was a busted one... may try to JBWeld it sometime next week.

Goin clean up, and watch the DVR'd SpikeTV's Powerblock! Holla!
