Default Upgrading to Type II power steering pump Q's

'03 Suburban, 5.3 4wd, non hydroboost. Swapped out the steering system, blue top steering box, new GM lines, cooler, OE pump, and I did the upgraded GM valve in the pump. Running larger tires, 305/70/17 ridge grapplers, and the system just sucks while the truck is standing still. Bogs the motor some etc. Does all the stuff that putting the upgraded GM valve in should have fixed. Read more on the net and stumbled upon upgrading to a Type II steering pump. Has anybody done this and have any tips/recommendations? I'd love for this thing to just work and be able to turn the wheels on pavement without having to get some kind of hydro ram setup.

thanks!
