I am a very lucky man! I have been helping a friend with a new project. Basically, I have been given the resources to acquire whatever go-fast parts necessary to deck out his truck. Its been a blast and I've learned tons but I'm not done yet. Anyway, here is the project:

6 liter Iron block
4.040 bore
4.125 stroke

Stage 2 ARE 6 liter heads
Comp cam 228 XE-R lobes
Dual springs
Comp lifters and hardened pushrods
Rollermaster double roller timing chain
Ported oil pump

Along with the motor:

FLP Level IV transmission
Yank 2600
ASM headers
Custom true dual 3" exhaust
UPD intake


With 550 miles on the odo, the transmission, converter, and UPD went in. At 600 miles, the headers and exhaust were installed. We are just over 700 miles now, and the motor goes gets installed in about 10 days.

Just in case the motor isn't enough, its getting setup for a dual stage 300 shot direct port system. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Oh yeah, almost forgot the best part: The high output 345 6L motor and 4L65E trans are going into my truck (with a few minor upgrades <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> ). Actually, the trans went in last week. Motor comes out of the EXT in two weeks. Besides the AWD transfer case, this is a complete Silverado SS drivetrain with the BigTex special touch.

Sounds like a fun project. That thing will be a beast when done. What does that guy do for a living? Because he is throwing out some serious cash all at once.

What plans do you have for the new 6.0?

just think, if he ever gets tired of running 11s in an escalade he can always take it out and put it in a fbody/vette and run 9s <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
