Does the charging go down at idle when just the crank pulley is changed and the stock alt pulley is used? Now that I've got electric fans, I need a full charge all the time. www.tbyrnemotorsports has the crank pulley, two belts and a new crank bolt for $199. That may be my next mod.

I run dual electric fans and have a single underdrive pulley.Voltage drops below 12v at idle when fans turn on.Can't recommend using the pulley with fans.

You might want to look around for them to see if they have them in stock. I ordered mine from tbyrne on november 18th and have yet to recive them. He is still waiting on them from ASP. I have E-fans too and I'm going to be running the underdrive and the alternator pulleys when they get here.

you need to call ASP and order the overdrive alt pully from them. I have ele fans, stereo and higher wattage headlamps/driving lights and mine does fine. You see a slight dip at idle but not much. I have the part number and phone number somewhere if you need it.

I think they are a worth while mod but I want to keep my charging up now, with the underdrive alt pulley, the charging drops at idle. I may just go with the crank pulley this time and keep the stock alt pulley which is smaller than the underdrive alt pulley. That way, the charging may not drop as much at idle, which will help if the electric fans kick on while I'm at a light or something.

You can get a smaller than stock alt pulley. I have one and it does help. I ran just the crank puley for about a year before I got tired of watching my lights dim everytime I pulled some heavy juice from the JBL 1200x1 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> . It still does it, but on a scale from 1-10, it's about an 8 for the better.

It depends on how much stop and go driving you do. If you live in NYC driving in bumper to bumper traffic all day long and have a 2,000 watt stero system and dual electric fans you might just want to consider the alt pulley. On the other hand if you live south of the Mason/Dixon and you spend most of your time with the pedal to the metal it shouldn't be that big of a deal. If you figure out how to get the factory pulley off and sucessfully install the ASP pulley your not going to be too concerned about the alt pulley at that point. Trust me on that one bro.
