If you've really got 600rwhp a built 4L60E WON'T holdup to it,you'll need at least a 4L80E built with high performance clutches and a shift kit.Summitracing carries Hughes and TCI transmissions at a discounted price or FLP can build a 4L80E capable of handling 1200hp if you have the money. You'll need to modify your crossmember, you'll need a different converter, you'll also need a conversion harness and PCM programing from Speartech,a different flywheel,a position indicator switch with bracket,a TH400 driveshaft yoke and a different transmission mount. You're probably talking $5000 or more if you have the work done at a shop.

The one called TorquEnstein will hold up to what you have now,but won't hold up to a max effort supercharged truck for very long. That is assuming everything is properly installed.

I've broken every broken almost every high performance part listed on that site with a 449rwhp Tahoe.I've broken a hardened input shaft, both front and rear 5 pinion planetaries,a 29 element sprag and a reinforced drum,6 "built"4L60Es in all,now I have a 4L80E.All 6 of the transmissions I broke had at least what the site called the TorquEnstein parts installed.

The 1st and 2nd transmission fried the clutch packs because of defective TCI torque converters. The 3rd transmission smashed a rear planetary at the track after a hard launch, when it made the 1st to 2nd gear shift, that one got me home. The 4th transmission smashed a front planetary street racing when I hit 3rd so I just lifted I limped home in 2nd gear. The 5th transmission broke at the track when a spider gear broke in my Auburn Pro and took out the rear planetary and a 29 element sprag. The 6th just quit running down the interstate highway 400 miles from home when the 13 vane pump failed. When I got the truck home I was on the phone buying a 4L80E.
