what type of engine doe's the 06 express 1500 have? T is the 8th digit of vin.I believe this engine is a 5.3

1.like doe's this engine have displacement on demand? or automatic lifters that turn off when cruising on expressway?
2.are the internal engine components the desirable and stronger gen 4 type or are they lesser?
3.what is the horsepower and torque I've searched a little an see 295hp but no torque #

I thought most of the lm7 the engine before 07 where 3rd gen. my 07 saab97x has 8th digit H w/ the dod. there's way to many changes over the years for me to keep up w/.

just so this 06 doesn't have those peskie DOD lifters. I've read that none truck vehicles w/ 5.3 like tahoes, trailblazers ect. do have dod even before 07 I think even 05s have the dod. are vans concidered none trucks? I'm thinking no they are considered trucks.

my next tow van won't have the dod I believe some vans & trucks newer than 07actuelly came w/out dod.
the next tow van won't have the new six speed transmission that I've read read are problematic slipping and jerking and very expensive to rebuild, like twice the cost of a 4L60.

I believe the 2011 express1500rv is when gm started w/ this six speed.
btw I was unable to goto your links
thanks for advise

it's a 5.3 LM7....no LM7 or any Gen 3 ever came with DOD or DOD lifters, ZERO to do with a van being considered a truck....All LM7 are Gen 3 LS but being an 06 it likely has the newer rods with the floating pins that were standard on ALL the Gen 4 LS...if you want to know whether an engine has DOD just look up the RPO, if its a Gen 3 you automatically know it DOES NOT have DOD, there is no 2005 anything with DOD....your SAAB has a GEN 4 LS, most Gen 4 5.3s have DOD

T = LM7

Pretty simple & straightforward really

No possibility for any further argument

Sure; always room to argue; doesn't really affect REALITY much though

"It is a tale told by an idiot; full of sound and fury, signifying nothing"

Perhaps I should have said, no possibility for further argument, unless you want to remove all doubt (it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt)

Now you're just arguing with yourself.
