It was mostly on the bushings so could be a reaction as you mentioned. Visible on several of the bushings on the pic...

For some carnage pics, here are the two rocker trunnions that failed...
Most severe of the two with extreme wear on the trunnion from the broken inner race.



Other broken trunnion. Notice the needle bearing indentions...


If you zoom in on the three trunnions on the right of the pile, the wear on the bottom side of the trunnions from the inner race is visible...


One issue I did notice with the kit are the snap rings are slightly oversized and barely contact the rocker body on the edges of the ears...
