Default 1.9 roller rockers

I know a lot of people are going to say get a bigger cam and I know I want to but I've seen some racing motors running 1.9 and 2.0 rocker arms. I'm just wondering if anyone here is doing this and how they like it. Just an idea to keep us all thinking.

unless you are building an all out race engine, I would keep the factory rockers. I think you can get an upgrade kit from Harland Sharp. Most cams are ground to where you arent even supposed to use 1.8 rockers... Get a bigger cam, its cheaper than new rockers anyhow!!!

if your wanting to go with roller rockers go with the 1.7 roller rockers thats if you plan on going with a upgraded cam... they have shown to gain 5hp by themselves...most people will say its not worth the money.. but i plan on going with a set of harland Sharp 1.7 roller rockers with my upgraded cam personally myself since you wont have to modify the valve covers...

1.8's seem to be working fine for me. ONly complaint I have is noise.

1.8's seem to be working fine for me. ONly complaint I have is noise.
Did you have to do a tune to eliminate the knock sensors or was that not a problem? Also do you notice more low and mid because of the faster lift? My main reason i'm wondering is because if I go with a large cam it raises my power band up and sure I will have great peak power numbers but I don't want to be turning 7000 rpm's. I guess I'm just curious if I have a lot of lift with a short duration will I get a lot more low end, were my truck is running 99.9% of the time.

I bought the heads with the 1.8's already on so I did a small 228 230 cam. If I would have had 1.7s then I would have just gotten a larger cam. I do feel more low and midrange power but that could also be caused by the truck intake.

The biggest benefits IMO to an aftermarket rocker are eliminating the potential failure of the stock needle bearings when you upgrade to heavy valve springs, and being able to set the lifter pre-load where you want it. The roller tips are a nice feature to reduce the deflection on the valve. A cam, spring and pushrod swap will get you the power wherever you are after it depeding on the grind.
