Default Tweaking the intake?

I've got the K&N FIPK and I'm going to the track tonight and want to do a little tweaking.

This post concerns the intake setup.

Some say taking the passenger headlight out helps it get a more direct shot of air. Is this true? Does it even make sense in theory?

Also, I am sure that many of you with the FIPK have noticed that the intake tube lays on top of the hot upper radiator hose, therefore heating (to what extent, I don't know) the air charge. Has anyone tried to address this problem? How? What was the outcome?

Once underway, the intake charge cools to ambient in a matter of seconds. Do not bother trying to anything unless you are unemplyed and have lots of time on your hands.

removing the head light just lets the cooler air come to the filter faster , i have removed the filter and ran it with the filter on both times the same so the filter is doing its job. on the tube i used insulation rated at 1600 degrees F, does it help probly not but wtf huh lol later, kevin

I always run with the headlight out.
