Default Turning E-fan On Help!!!!

I am trying to turn on the electric fans with Hp Tuners. It is a Nelson harness. I am wanting to know exactly what I need to turn on in HPtuners. I am under fan type and I highlighted "2 fans" but they will not come on. I then highlighted Aux fans and they still wont go on. Do I need to mess with anything from the section VATS control.

desTRUCKtive was trying to help me turn on my fans.....we played around with it for a couple of hours trying to get the right settings but could never get the fans to come on. The only thing I can think of is that the pin I pushed through 42 blue is not making contact with the PCM pin, so I'll have to check it again this weekend. If I remember right, we set it to 2Fans - on at 200 - off at 190 - min 30mph - max 35mph (what do the speed numbers mean, btw????). stage 2 we set at on - 210 off - 200, but it doesn't sound like stage 2 is gonna mean anything. Also set the ignition disable deal to 235 and ignition off runtime to 150. Can someone clarify what all the different settings mean??

Thanks again Beto, I definitely wasn't expecting you to spend as much time as you did on it. I owe you!

psssst get that tranny fixed!! I want a ride!!

Yeah guys, my main concern is making sure that the fans were turned on right. I went into the general section in Hp tuners and I did turn the fans to the ON Position I also enabled the Fan 1 and Fan 2 parts. The temps were mentioned earlier was were it is set at. Am I missing something in Hp tuners? I think I am not, but I am not to sure. Thunder is going to check his connections once again and try to figure out if maybe his connections are wrong. thanks for any help

Beto,

Got an answer from Allen already.

"Stock stat: 205on/200off
160 stat: 189on/182off

Set both fan stages to the temps above.
Set fan type to Aux Fans.

Also, tap into the blue pcm wire and ground it, if both fans come on low
with the a/c off, the harness is workin."

Sounds like it should have been working, cause we tried those settings. I'm definitely gonna check the connections this weekend. It's either that or a bad PCM....but if the PCM was bad, it would be affecting other things too.

Set the temps lower while your checking so you don't have to wait for the truck to warm up as long. If the harness is working then set them up like Allen mentioned. Just a tip.

The harness is working...I have the blue wire of the harness into blue connector pin 42 on the pcm, but the pcm won't turn the fans on. I also have tapped that same wire and when I ground it manually, the fans do come on. So there has to be a problem in the connection to the pcm...either I grabbed the wrong pin (unlikely...I've checked it twice) or there is some reason why I am not making good contact with the pin. Thanks for the tip though.

Yeah, sounds like a bad connection at the PCM. Make sure the pin goes ALL the way down in that spot. It'll make a little click when it is in right. Unplug the whole connector, you can see the pin seat correctly from bottom if I remember correctly from installing my Nelson harness.

The pin was a PITA for me to get in and seated deep enough in the connector to work.
