Default turbo bliss, lots of info and a vid

>> VID http://www.neufamily.org/03silverado.../turbotest.mpg

took the truck to the local spot, didn't really plan on runing it or anything just wanted to show off my turbo, it's not really dialed in. i decided to make a run anyways just to see where i was and it looked prety good, a/f was safe and little or no knock retard, i kept easing up the boost and it just kept going faster, 6psi, 7psi, 8psi, 9psi, 10psi!!!!!!! unreal, 10psi and no knock retard.

keep in mind i have no coolant in my intercooler and am running pump gas, i also have the stock cat back on there(no cut out). later this ls1 camaro wanted to run, i dont have 4wd right now but dicided to give it a try. here is the vid, the first run was 9psi with too much boost out of the hole and lots of wheel spin, had to let off hard. 2nd run was 10psi but didn't load it out of the hole, just rolled into it. the gtech showed 13.26 at 107 with a 2.25 60', i will be able to rip out of the hole with 4wd i think.

you cant tell from the video but this thing sounds like a 747 swooping down on you, it is prety loud, i need to get some vid from outside the truck. with coolant in the intercooler, a cut out, 4wd, good gas, more boost, more timing, holly crap!! this thing is going to run hard.

here are a couple of screen shots from the wideband and efilive.

I think your gms/cyl should be higher still. I'm seeing 1.05 with only 7psi.

You should egt that intercooler filled up soon! Those IAT's are getting up there.

no knock with 162* iat? That is getting hot, but is that readout showing you are only running 7* of timing?

yep, just 7deg, that will go up some with the intercooler hooked up. i am no where near setup like i will be, that is what is soo crazy, i could see 20-40hp for each of the things i am missing. timing, intercooler, cut out, and 4wd would give me an easy .5 quicker et. then good gas and more boost.

Ya you are right in keeping things like timing low until you have everything else hooked up. It is good insurance for the engine.

Hey Parish, get a vid idling or without the wind noise so we can really hear that thing whistle

I cant get the vid to work. I even tried going to your home page, and the others worked, but not that one.

that sucks, it probably isn't worth messing with anyways, you can't really hear the turbo very well
