I would think so. Did you mill to raise compression or get better flowing heads and mill them to regain stock compression??

I would have it re-tuned. That much off can definately cause knock and that is the mother of all engine enemies. Not to mention it is too cheap not to have it done.

A tune is not neccisary, but it does help. If you get low grade gas or bad gas KR will be a bitch though.

Where are you getting the heads done? I used to use a machine shop right off I-35 just before Mopac. They do a great job for a low price.

It wouldn't be any problem at all if he was on a stock tune, but he is already on a nelson tune for his lower compression. I would think that it would be very beneficial to get a re-tune.

My friend recommended a shop for me in Llano, getting my heads milled and three header bolts that broke off in the head taken out is costing me around $80.00 then the adittional $198.00 for new gaskets and head bolts. The bolts were the only reason I took the heads off in the first place then decided I needed to do something else performance wise while they are off.
I would do some headwork to em' I just dont trust myself.

Thanks again

Did you consider the effects of pushrod length?
