Default Best tune settings for...

Im getting an HPtune soon and was wondering what would be some good settings for an 03 single cab 5.3 with a FIPK2 and dual exhaust? Its a daily driver, but I want a pretty aggresive tune . I was thinking 6300 rpm rev limiter. 1-2 shift point @ 6150rpm, 2-3 @ 6100, and 3-4 @ 6000rpm. Top speed of 155mph. (Dont ever plan on seeing 155mph , but its good to know its there.) Are these good settings?

What are your opinions for...

Rev limiter point?
Best Shift point settings?
How much Shift firmness?
Top speed?
and whatever else you can change...

Help me

Don't expect too much for an 03 with a Hypertech. I had the same mods on my 03 RCSB 5.3 when I loaded my HPP tune and about all I got was detonation. I even installed a 160 t-stat and that didn't help. I asked for dyno graphs for an 03 and when I finally got them, they show only a 7 hp increase from a 93 tune, 4 hp from an 87 tune. Hardly worth the $300 for a Hypertech. I finally removed it and got a custom tune. Big difference!

I don't think they (Hypertech) are getting as much gain from the 03 with their tune as earlier models when the hp was a bit lower. If all you are interested in is tranny changes, then the HPP is good for that, but it won't affect TM, which is a big limiter to performance.

I would not shift over 6000 unless you have another cam. The stock one is pretty much dead after 6000rpm. You can set your rev limiter to about 6200-6300.

-Delete 100% engine tqm and about 50% in your transmission since you don't have a shift kit yet.
-Shoot for an air/fuel ratio of about 12.5-12.7 and 28* of timing is good place to start.
-Don't warry abou your speed limiter. I have mine at about 150mph and I have never gone past 130mph.

I have an '04 single-cab and I recently did HP Tuning on it. It has the 6300rpm rev limiter. I think it has 1-2 shift point at 6150rpm, 2-3 at 6100rpm, and 3-4 at 6000. My top speed is 150mph I mean, sure you'll need a bigger cam if you're planning on "abusing" the truck all the time. But it it's for regular driving and the occasional track-test, there should be no problem. I'm still testing mine out on the street, scared the hell out of me several times ...but the chicks love the excitement....Catch you on the flip side...

I think im gonna stay on the conservative side like you said and shift around 6000 rpms since the cam really doesnt help on the high end. Later when I get a cam and a shift kit ill change the settings BTW File how are your trucks runnig, have you taken them to the track? Whats this new project I heard about...
