Pipe out the back or behind the tire sucks for lowered guys. My old tips used to hit curbs all the time when id back in. Now i have gone to the chrome camaro style tips. They help but lost sound from them

Option 1 is the way to go for mass manufacturing, cost and ease of installation.
One big muffler with ture-x core fits better and is easier and cheaper to install.
The choice of dual rear or side exit is great as well.
I wish you had a dual side exit kit now for dual outlet muffler.

I think the biggest concern would be price. Most kits, while it's nice to be able to bolt it on in your driveway, cost 2-3 times as much as what an exhaust shop will charge to do a custom job. Parts and labor on mine was only $220 plus the cost of the x-pipe and mufflers. If you can keep it at $400 or below for a cat back you'll have a winner.

Wouldn't option 2 flow better than option 1 by having a larger capasity with 2 muffler cases?

actually the dual pipe in one muffler vs two has almost no appreciable differnce.the net effect of two bodies and an internal vs external x are minor. Unless you are pushing the capacity of the system you shoudl not see a difference.

Too bad you are not local ... I would build somthing for your truck just to do some .... hmm "testing" yeah thats it.

In all actuality we do that here all the time. R&D on real vehciels to find out what our product can do and how we can improve it.

I'll be doing some testing and be posting soon.
