I would want a dual with external X, one large muffler, and dual exit out the rear (under bumper). I like the convertible exit option though - probably get a lot more interest with that. I just bought a regular magnaflow catback that's supposed to be here tomorrow though.

Hmmm...

How about a single 3.5" catback since it's about the same area as a dual 2.5" system and probably less weight.

Or a single 4" system for guys wanting to make a bit more than 450rwhp.

I'd definetely like to see a bolt-on exhaust system that supports 500+ rwhp.

I would be happy to see them just make a decent sized (5x8x18 or larger) single 3.5" in/out muffler.

Okay if this is a sounding board, heres my thoughts.

1 Can you get an equal lenth to the x-pipe from the cats if there might be cutting involved anyway.

2 Would a muffler with the internal x-pipe be easier to get certified and pass inspection.

3 I live in the snow belt and wonder how 409 holds up to the elements (mainly salt) and would you warranty against this. I would buy it without question if you could make it out of t304.

4 Can an SS style catback can bolt right in to a 2000 regular 1500 ecsb.

I think 2.5 would be great for these smaller displacement engines. Just my .02.

From the headers (prolly going to be pacesetters), stay true dual (6L y-pipe?),cats, muffler with the x-pipe, dual side exit with the chrome angle cut tips, 2.5inch pipe . can i put the 6L exhaust on my 5.3?

OK good info. Here's two designs I'm leaning towards:

Option 1:
-Cut behind the cats with replacement of oval/crush DS cross pipe.
-Dual 2.5" tubing to a dual 2.5" in / dual 2.5" out 5x8x11 with internal x-pipe.
-Dual 2.5" tubing over the axle with two exit options (Back - under bumper / Back - side behind tire)
-Dual wall 45* slash cut tips.

Option 2:
-Cut behind the cats with replacement of oval/crush DS cross pipe.
-Dual 2.5" tubing to a external Tru-x followed by dual 5x8x14 O/C 2.5" in/out mufflers
-Dual 2.5" tubing over the axle with two exit options (Back - under bumper / Back - side behind tire)
-Dual wall 45* slash cut tips.

I'll be mocking up a system for sound and fitment shortly.

Cant wait to see some pics. Will either of these systems work with pacesetter headers?

Will the internal X muffler give up any performance? If not I like that option best as it would be easier to attach to peoples "custom" setups that they already have.

The dual out under the bumper, would it be both pipes together on one side? I think that would look good with the slash cut tips.

How about an option for a dual 3" setup? Would it just be a matter of changing the pipe size in the mandrel bender program or alot more involved?
