Default True Dual On A 5.3

How much difference in sound and performance between a true dual system from cats back or standard cat back system both using magnflow! I did a custom magnflow cat back with 2.5 inlet and dual 2 outlet to dual tail pipes. With the buick being very quiet inside i would like more of the muscle sound. The new system i would do would be magnaflow with dual 2.5 pipes and 2 round mufflers with 2.25 exit's with dual tail pipes and tips. any thoughts? This is a 2004 buick rainier 5.3 LM4 by the way!

I'll offer my opinion on this with the caveat that I'm not an expert on performance and exhaust, so keep that in mind.

I suspect that you'd be most pleased with a single-in/dual out Magnaflow rather than a true dual set-up UNLESS you are planning to get real extreme (power-wise) with the engine in your Buick. The Magnaflow on my truck actually has a single 3" pipe with a 3" exit pipe because I feel I get the best performance with this set-up.

Hopefully, some of our brethren will jump in here with their thoughts and you'll be able to make an educated decision. Good luck!

I must say i'm not expected to gain anymore ponies, but i would like to get a meaner sound! Sound is first on the list. I know i gained a little with the set-up i have now, but not the sound i'm going for.

I'm not sure if this applies to their products for the Ranier, but typically Magnaflow makes a few different mufflers for each system and the shorter the muffler, the more aggressive the sound. If you bought the longest & biggest, it probably produces a more subdued sound. See if they have a shorter model for your vehicle.
