What about a slip yoke for the tranny?

I got my flexplate w/ the tranny, and the spacer wasn't pressed in there. Do i need to get that done b/f we do the tranny?

That is good info cause I want to do the 60 to 80 swap too but don't know where to start. Is yours 4WD? cause mine is 2WD I just hope 2WD easier. Can you take many pictures and share all the info you get king of step by step, please? A web site and parts list would be SWEET!!
Don't you also need a 2500 crossmember or are you having your 1500 crossmember modified?

Mine is 2wd ... I will be modifying my crossmember.

I wil say I'll take some pictures but if it's like most of my projects I just get in and zone out and concentrate on doing it more than documenting it. I've never been good at documenting.

Scream ... I don't kow what to tell you about the flexplate. I thought the driveshaft was all the same for the 60 and 80 trans??? I will take my trash yoke that fits in the 60e and stick it in there to see if it fits.

the 80 has the TH400-style yoke, and you'll have to get an adapter u-joint to connect the 1350-series yoke to the saginaw joint ont he shaft, or something like that

I haven't yet. I'm going to get a whole new driveshaft (4" aluminum) with all 1350-series joints. Even for the rear end. I'm planning on doing the gears/Eaton at the same time.

I would guess that any place that does driveshafts should be able to help you out w/ the joint.

Are you going w/ 4.10s?

It's back!! Got it there this morning and they had it ready to pick up by 5! I'm impressed. They had some really nice rigs there too. They had some trucks there that looked like true art work with the suspension.

Now all I need it tuning and driveshaft adjustments.

We will start working on it this weekend. Hopefully the trans will be in there and hooked up. I will get the driveshaft out to the shop Monday morning. I called 'a tuner' and tried again to get the same file I've been trying to get for some time now. I think he found a work around for my oddball segment1 ID ... but I've not heard anything else about it in a few days.
