Default Truck Times

Finally got my truck to the track and i think i did ok for the mods it has.

15.7@87 with K&N, E-fans, and a 3" magnaflow muffler

15.244@90.985 with K&N, E-fans, 3" magnaflow muffler, and HPP3

How can i drop it to 14's?
oh btw i have a 1999 Silverado RCSB with 4.8, auto, and stock 342 gears and non posi.

What's your 60ft.? Should be able to cut a high 14 at 90mph+ trap speed.
Maybe sticky tires? Or gears and posi?

Im pretty sure a stall would get you into the 14s if you could get it to hook up..

So did mine. I've said it before and everyone still put it down. I like mine, and think they are great for anyone who isn't looking to run faster than mid-13's. I think at that point you need "MORE" options as far as tuning goes. I just hate when someone comes along and says, Hypertech sucks, get a Nelson tune!....and their **** is runnin' like 15.9's or something. My truck gained a WHOLE second from the Hypertech and the Yank TT3000, no ****.

Definatly get a torque converter. I think this will help the most, if you can hook up with the open diff. When my truck (04 ex cab 5.3) was bone stock ran 16.3 in 86 degree heat. With only electric fans, torque managment removed and yank 3000 I ran a 15.0. The temperture was 58 so better air did help, but everthing else is stock no filter, muffler, tuning etc I shaved off 1.3 sec.

get a stall (but keep those gears and see how the stall works with them)

before yank 3000 = 15.7

after yank 3000 = 15.3

so expect to gain about .4-.5 sec
