I was mainly concerned that i have something else wrong with the truck making it such a turd
and wanted to try to fix it before new setup is all installed.... sounds like wheels seem to be the new culprit

I ll have to throw my two cents in. I replaced my fuel pump at 60K, then 4 years later (last week) replaced it at 155K. Both times It still ran, but it would spit and sputter, wouldnt shift right, hard to start....it never just went completely out. I change the fuel filter regularly, and changed plugs and wires on it before I did the second pump.....but replaced the pump again and it runs strong again! It could definetely be fuel pressure, as well as tires.
Please change your fuel filter regularly, we changed my buddies 2000 5.3 the other day, it was the stock ACdelco filter, and you shouldve seen all the crap that came out of it. Runs a whole lot better.

I agree the heavy wheels will slow you down, especially from a stop. Your CAI and catback aren't helping either. Those are upgrades meant to add Hp up top, the stock stuff would have been best for low end torque.
If you tune for the mods and cut out most of the TM it will help alot. But since your throwing in a bigger engine with a decent sized cam, you might as well wait to tune it when that goes in. I think you'll be happy once the engine is in and its tuned.
I agree that you should make sure your FP is up to the task to feed your new engine.
