The alternator bracket needs the idler pulley moved over and down about 3" to clear the TB...the stock TB will work fine...you need to get a belt that is about 6" longer to connect it all together too
Thanks for the info

One other thing that you all will find out the hard way.....you NEED the fuel rails and crossover tube from a '97-'98 C5...it is the ONLY "LS1-type" intake equipped vehicle that came with a return-type fuel system like the one in out trucks...it makes that part of the install plug and play and as long as you have the f-body injectors and the ability to splice wires the install is VERY EASY

You WILL need tuning to compensate for the bigger injectors once you do the swap also......If tuning is not an option for you there IS a way to do the swap with the truck rails, crossover, and injectors, if you want info on that please feel free to ask.....it DOES involve cutting on the intake to lower the rail mounting pads and the tools necessary to bend and flare tubing (you've been warned)

The truck fuel rails and crossover work fine, as for the idler pulley just cut it off. As for performance gains my truck was running 12.8 at 104 before and then 12.3 at 108 after. My truck pulls very hard on the top end now, but that may because the cam I'm running and also shift points.

Yeah i think i will with go the C5 rails and crossover.i dont really want to cut on the intake. Im putting in bigger injectors anyways and have the edit to tune it. Thanks again for the info.

HOW do you propose that the belt be run if the idler pulley is cut off ???...it will route the belt STRAIGHT THROUGH the TB....if there is a way around this please let me know...I'd LOVE to do this install without having to mod that $#@%&^% bracket again, and the truck injectors are WAY too short to be used without cutting down the mounting pads on the intake (I can see using the truck rails with f-body injectors...but the truck crossover tube sticking up 6 inches in the air over the intake looks REALLY stupid to me....you CAN bend up another one but I'd rather use the plug and play solution that GM designed)

blacksheep - How do you route the belt for everyday(non short belt mod) if you just delete the idler pulley? Can you get a pic?

Thanks
