Default truck injector question

i think sprear tech acdentialy programed for a 6.0 on my truck, there are lots of things that look like 6.0 programing especial the .75L per cylinder

it isn't a problem since i have a 6.0 now, i dont have a stock read from my original computer either. i was told all trucks have the same size injector but i am not so sure.

the program that came back has 3.18 for an injector flow rate. it was way lean with that number so i droped it to 2.5, that is close but is a little to much. seems like 2.7 is going to get me right on. my last truck had a 2.7 IFR stock. looks to me like i have the same injectors in my 03 as my 99. is that what i am suppose to have and would the injector that came with the 01 6.0 be larger?

the wideband shows about 11.5-1 a/f ratio and i am seeing as high as 22ms pulse width at 4800-5600rpm. i know that will come down a little as i lean it out but it still seems like i shouldn't be maxing these things out all ready.

anyone have part numbers and flow rates?

Here is this info I gathered up a while back:

Check the part number off the injector. I'm 99% sure that you have the same size injector as all the other trucks.

Would you like a copy of my stock 2003 SS .LS1 file?

Not by accident; since I knew you were doing a 6.0 swap! The 3.18 is correct for your old 4.8 AND the 6.0. I don't know what year your 6.0 is but maybe you should put your 4.8 injectors in it. You have to go back to 2000 to get a 6.0L with a flow rate other than 3.18 and even in 00 the flow rate was 3.13.
I think your injectors may be partially plugged if you are having to change the IFR that much to get it running right!

I can email you your stock 4.8 file if you want it.

Hi guys, I've been reading and learning a lot here. I was very interested when parish8 began asking about injectors in his swap in 6.0L.

I have the 6.0L LQ9 with some very minor mods (TB bypass, 172* stat, free ram air). I have been logging with EFILive for a little over a month now and have noticed that my injectors are running about 90 - 93% duty cycle over the 5000-5500 RPM range. The highest I saw was 95% one time. This is with stock injectors and stock programming. Static fuel pressure seems ok - 53psi at vacuum, 59psi with vac removed. Don't have a gauge for fuel pressure while driving...

Anyway, I am guessing that the 26lbs/min injectors are barely able to feed the stock 6.0L enough fuel. It doesn't seem right for GM to expect the same 26lbs/min injectors to feed 4.8L and 6.0L engines. Plus, after looking at BigTex's links, I'm wondering why they changed injectors around several times in the '99 to '01 time frame...

Just wanted to add some current (and hopefully useful) data to the discussion...

i knew i didn't tell you but that is cool you picked it up on here

i would like to have that file, >> cobra99vert@aol.com

that injector info is interesting, i have the 4.8 injectors in there right now and it didn't take long for the ltrims to max out at +25 with the 3.18 ifr. i will check the part numbers and maybe swap in the 6.0 ones. what i really need is another maf senor to try. i had a prety big nitrous backfire with the 4.8 and my have damaged it.
