dont think cam and crank sensor can get out of sink as long as you have the timing events set correctly, which you did correctly from your install description. it's going to be something silly keeping it from starting.

do you have HP tuners? it may need a security relearn. it will usually fire off for 1 second when needing a relearn though.

I feel I remember attaching a ground to the block back there that may have belonged to a head????

yes. both of them on the back side. it's been a while since i've done a swap, but i think theres only a strap to the firewall on the drivers side and then 2 or 3 wires to the passenger side.

as long as they are to either the head or the block they should fine. i found it easiest to connect them to the back of the head.
