transmission temp
#1
Did a drain and fill on my 4L80e @7500miles (and that drain plug isn't as bad as people say) but what I noticed is the trans temp never gets to 150* now. When I first recived the truck in spring it wouldn't get to 150 but in summer it was at 150*-160* day and night what I had assumed it was just the 90* heat (as is a factor) possibly the DEX III had lost some of its capabilitys letting the trans slip more then usual over the summer heat? I also noticed the trans was overfilled from the factory, after a 30minute drive the fluid would maintain a level above the hash marks(interesting.)
also had a leaking axle seal on my prized 14bolt which the service advisor at GM said axle seals rarely leak.....
lol warranty replaced it without a problem.

My drain plug was no problem either. But the one on my wifes Tahoe is in there for life. Must be the 4L60. My temps are usually 160 or so and go as high as 180 if I am tearing it up through the hill country.

Was it hard to change the fluid? I need to do this soon. Did you do the filter also?
I also noticed the tech didn't change my diff fluid with doing the axle seal but topped it off (dodgy). I'm gonna have to spend the $40 bucks and do it myself I guess, that whale spooge isnt' cheap.
Hey L82gofast how you like the magnacharger on your truck???? any 1/4 mile time????

No, no 1/4 time. I've never taken it to the track. I guess I should get off my *** and do that. I just need to get a Gtech like I have been thinking about for a long time. The magnacharger is awsome. I have never had a problem and it really brought the 6.0 to life. It pulls great from idle all the way. I'll bet the radix is even better.
