I was curious to hear about how a shift kit lengthen's the life of a transmission. Someone posted that up a little while ago, about how the bands slip less now.

But my question would be more about the increase of driveline shock as more detrimental then slipping bands in the tranny.

As long as it is done correctly, it will be better for a general everyday tranny. It cuts out a lot of slippage during the shift, that's the main thing it does that will preserve the life of the tranny.
