its a program in the cpu that protects the driveline from being damaged. by tomuch torque. if you install a transgo full adjustable shiftkit and a vette servo. it suggest that you remove torque manegement to benifit the full effect from the shift kit. when you remove it the truck doesnt fall on its face when you shift. just keeps pulling. the only way to totally remove torquemanagement is to remove it with LS1 EDIT

You have billet servos AND 3 washers?! Holy ****...that has to shift hard as ****! Seriously ditch all those washers. You'll still easily be able to bark the tires at WOT with your light weight truck (as compared to mine) and street tires.

Did you turnup your line pressure via Edit by accident?

TqMgt is GM's bandaid fix for their poor 4L60E...that trans is based of a mid 80's design! Pulls timing pretty much all the time. A/C on, WOT, kick downs, upshifts, when the wind blows, and probably even when you let a fart.

GM did this instead of updating the internals of the trannies.

So when we go to make power, TqMgt stands in the way holding us back. Once it is moved under high power it toasts the 3-4 clutch pack. I think it has to do with insufficient oiling of the clutch packs in the input drum. I am going to remove all my TqMgt and see how my TransGo keeps my tranny together...pretty well I bet.

Also I am going to stick in a larger B&M supercooler in place of my junk factory cooler to help.

I never powerbrake my tranny so I'd assume that has a lot to do with the life it will live too.

thunder, if you have to firm of a shift, that would be what happened to your tranny. Mine did the same thing, except it was the hardened input shaft and everything behind it. Sad thing is I wasn't even beating on it at the time. I know after that, I pretty much had to have a whole new tranny. Do like HitMan said and ditch those washers, at least 2 of them. I think I had 2 and billet servos, and it would bark them with no problems what so ever. It would even try and get sideways with me if it shifted in a turn.

well david knows now what hes dealing with. i explained to him that this was an on going thing and he said it wouldnt be a problem. i know im not putting out monstrous horse power or anything near it so im figureing that something was faulty in the trans. this is probably what he'll wind up doin

Thunder .. I just saw your times in your sig and thought that was a little slow so I thought I'd toss in a couple cents worth. Yes, I know, this is off topic as can be, but I'm sorry. Something a little more restrictive on the exhaust might help ya out. I think you're flowing to well with the bigger rockers and 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I'd try getting some more restrictive mufflers in there to try and create a little more back pressure. That should help with your low end as well.

yeah i always thought it was a little slow for my mods but. those times are incorrect for right now. when i ran that i had i transmission with burnt clutches and no LS1 fans, and no LS1 edit. so i dont know exactly what my times are. any idea as to where i should be. you can really feel the truck pick uparound 2500 rpms starts pulling real good. i dont want to put down a lower time because this was the last official time i had and havnt been able to make it to the track yet. guesss im gonna find out this week end at thunder shootout.

I would think about 14.5 or so at least. I test drove an 02 Chevy RCSB with a 4.8 and was pretty disapointed in it. I also drove a new one with a 4.8 and was still disappointed. I think you should be quicker than that though.

thats what im hopin for when i go to thunder shootout this weekend. and yes i would have to agree with you a stock 4.8L just flat out sucks but when its basically given to you, you cant complain. hopin to make this one of the few quickest 4.8's with out usin NOS. eventually ill get there. allready given a few modded 5.3L headaches. mind you i said a few. and they are not as heavily moded as mine. but it is nice to out run an SS. exspecially when he tells me that was pretty good for havin a 5.3L in a single cab. then i tell him no its a 4.8L.
that really pisses them off.but oh well still got losts of work to do
